Checkride issues Aug 2025
Some things we are seeing across the DPE exams:
Not knowing your notes, warnings, cautions, limitaitons, and MEMORY ITEMS for your aircraft. This to me is nearly an automatic disapproval.
Not knowing how to perform a forward slip or slipping with flaps extended when the AFM/POH says to avoid it.
Not being properly endorsed.
In short, if you did not complete a home study course, graduate from a 141 school that has been reviewed, or received a logbook endorsement for ground and flight training in the required aeronautical knowledge. For private that is 61.105 b. ; for instrument it is 61.65 b, for commercial it is 61.129 b. The regulation states specifically what must be logged. We are looking for that in the student logbooks or provided form.
